Exit133 is about Tacoma
This Weekend: Are You Ready for the Weekend?!
Tacoma! I want you to know that I missed you all terribly last week as I was away from my computer, entertaining guests from out of town. I hope you found some ways to entertain yourselves - and that you got to practice your pirate speak for "Talk Like a Pirate Day" on Saturday.
This week I'm back, and I have for you a chance to go back in time to the 1890’s where you will get to tour, and experience what it was like to be on board an elite yacht more than a century ago. To wrap up your Sunday I stumbled upon a big name stand-up comedian playing at Pantages Theatre – so hold on to your britches, it’s going to be a fast paced weekend!

El Primo Tour and Foss Waterway Seaport Destiny Dinner Presented by the Tacoma Historical Society
Last Saturday was Talk Like a Pirate Day, but this Saturday brings a chance to spend some time on the more luxurious side of the history of ocean travel.
This is a great opportunity to learn and experience what boating luxury felt like back in 1893. This Saturday the Tacoma Historical Museum puts on their 9th annual Destiny Dinner at the Foss Waterway Seaport, with the theme of “Working Tacoma.” It’s a celebration of our city’s unique labor history and the heroic men and women who built Tacoma.
I really find these types of events interesting because we have individuals that are bringing artifacts back to life for others to enjoy, like El Primo, the 1893 yacht you will tour as a part of this exclusive event. Also, for an additional monetary value, you have the opportunity to dine at the Seaport, and enjoy more exhibits and displays while you eat your delicious meal. I’m looking forward to this event because I love being in a community that has such an appreciation for history and keeping the past alive (and it’s worth noting I also love boats).
The gates to the dock open for the tour of El Primo at 5pm, and dinner starts right after the tour at roughly 6pm. There will be a $25 fee for both the tour and dinner, and if you’re planning on attending, you need to RSVP no later than this Friday the 25th.
If you have any further questions regarding the boat tour or dinner you are encouraged to email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit their Facebook page.

Lewis Black – The Rant is due: Part Deux presented by the Broadway Center
After walking on the epitome of luxury, you definitely need to treat yourself to some laughs by going to see Lewis Black perform at Pentages Theatre. Lewis Black is a great performer, and you could totally make a date night out of this! Stop for a bite to eat on your way downtown at Puget Sound Pizza, Paesan, the Parkway Tavern or any number of other favorite restaurants and watering holes close to the heart of Tacoma - your options are limitless. Heck, you could even get some good gaming in before or after the show by going to Dorky’s Arcade – this arcade also allows you to even have a few adult beverages while playing your favorite pinball or Packman game… just sayin’.
If this sounds like something you could really sink your teeth into, the show begins at 7pm with tickets currently going for $70. I recommend starting your night around 5pm to get some extra fun in before the show though, because why not?
If you would like more information on this performance, visit the Broadway Center event page.
Thank you for reading my weekly blog! If you have any events that you would like to see on my board please send them to email@example.com and I will be sure to check them out. Again, I really enjoy writing this for you all each week and I hope you are already looking forward to next week’s shenanigans.
