Eastside Community Center Public Open House

Eastside Community Invited to Share Ideas at Public Open House on Jan. 8

A public online survey has been launched to gain input regarding the feasibility and potential use of a new community center on Tacoma’s east side.

In response to concerns of Tacoma’s Eastside Neighborhood, which has strongly advocated for healthy, safe activities for local youth, the City of Tacoma has partnered with Metro Parks, the Tacoma Housing Authority and the Tacoma School District to conduct a feasibility study for a new Eastside community center.

The study will address service gaps and community needs in the areas of health and recreation activities, social gathering spaces, and educational and cultural opportunities. It is planned for completion in early 2014.

Come discuss the possibility of building a new state-of-the-art community center on the eastside of Tacoma. Please join us, we’d like your input!

Meeting topics include:

  • Site & Building Design Concepts
  • Use Program Refinements
  • Project Finances
