Hari Kondabolu with opening act El Sanchez

November 18, 2017 at 7:30 am

Brooklyn-based Hari Kondabolu has made a name for himself as a writer and performer on “Totally Biased,” the FX show that starred the equally thoughtful W. Kamau Bell. As a former immigrants’ rights activist, Kondabolu, like Bell, favors comedy with political implications. 2014 was a big year for him: He was interviewed at length by Terry Gross on NPR’s “Fresh Air,” held an artist’s residency at NYU and released a comedy album, “Waiting for 2042,” on the indie-rock label Kill Rock Stars. He followed that album in 2016 with Mainstream American Comic.” Tickets: $19, $32, $44
