Talk the Walk” for Pedestrian Crossing Improvements

Talk the Walk” for Pedestrian Crossing Improvements The City of Tacoma is planning to spend $2.5 million ($1 million of that downtown) in one-time funds planning, designing and constructing pedestrian crossing improvements. In spring, City of Tacoma staff asked people to “Talk the Walk” with them about where pedestrian improvements are most needed and how they should be prioritized now, and into the future. City staff are coming back to the community to share what they learned, the resulting ranking process, which projects are rising to the top, and discuss a tentative project schedule. The meeting covering Downtown, the tide flats, Northeast Tacoma, North Tacoma, and West End (Council District areas 1 and 2) will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 30 at the Wells Fargo Courtyard Conference Room, 1201 Pacific Avenue.
