Does anyone have any update as to the status of this museum? The website went down but I was able to access a backup of it on the Internet Archive.

I called the number that was listed on the site but it was disconnected. Here's a link to the City of Tacoma's site on the museum.

With the Lemay Auto Museum looking to break ground this summer, I hope to hear some news of this facility as well. Tacoma would be great with multiple museum districts.

I think the old site of the museum on D Street is now the site of Crosswater Condos : http://www.crosswatercondos.com/index.htm

I believe you're correct on that. I thought I read an article that the museum was going to change where it was going to be built from that location on D street, to a location close to the Lemay museum.

Boy there's a story then to be told as to what happened with this endeavor. In 2002, they had the property all set and were almost ready to build. Now the project is scraped?
It would be good to know what happened with this endeavor not to take people to task, but to learn what happened so that the mistakes that went into not having this project move forward, are not repeated in the future.

Most of this was the brainchild of Marty Moloney operates Pioneer Industries down there.

It's in a trade guide? Big oops. I contacted the Tacoma Weekly, and they haven't heard anything for quite some time either about this.
I know there's the Antique Motorcycle Museum in Chehalis.

I had a taste of the museum when Marty ran his vintage motorcycle repair shop up in Seattle. It was set in an old gas station with nice wooden floors. Very cool vibe to it. It really was more of a working museum since he had row after row of his own collection on display. I wish we could do something like that down here!

That's why I'd really like to know what happened in why the museum was not built in Tacoma. It would seem a natural fit next to the Lemay museum.

I paid one hundred dollars to become a member of the Pioneer Motorcycle Museum. All I can show for my investment is a signed poster. I, personally, think that all the money the members paid should be returned.

Yes, it was Marty Moloney who was behind the museum. He and his bros set up shop in Spanaway, then downtown tacoma. they had a good space, lots of nice old bikes, super good mechanics and, not for lack of passion, i think the lack of cashflow disolved their very ambitious and good intentions.
Don't be too hard about the c-note you lost, Honda360t, they lost much more.
It was fun while it lasted, and I wish all those guys well.
