Youth Between Ages of 16 and 18 Encouraged to Apply
The Tacoma City Council is looking to fill three vacant positions on the Human Services Commission.
The Commission consists of 15 members recommended by the Public Safety, Human Services and Education Committee, and appointed by the City Council. Membership must reflect the diversity of Tacoma’s racial, cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic and geographic makeup. Youth between the ages of 16 and 18 are encouraged to apply.
The Human Services Commission conducts public hearings, accepts and reviews funding applications, rates project applications and makes human services funding recommendations to the City Council. The Commission also serves as a resource to the City Council and staff in the implementation of the City's Human Services Strategic Plan.
