District 29 House Candidate Durst Challenges Primary Opponents to Debates
Tacoma – Branden Durst, Democratic candidate for the Washington State House of Representatives in District 29, has challenged his opponents, incumbent David Sawyer and challenger Rick Thomas, to three, ninety minute public debates. Durst says that the debates will help voters get to know each candidate’s positions on the issues that they care about.
“The public deserves to know where we stand on the issues important to them. I’m not afraid to tell the public and I hope my opponents have the courage to do the same,” Durst said.
Durst says his campaign has reached out to the other campaigns to propose the debates, but has yet to hear back yet.
About the candidate:
Branden Durst is married to his wife, Cheri (Swenson) and he has three school aged children. He earned a bachelor of arts in political science from Pacific Lutheran University (’03) and a master of public policy and administration from Boise State University (’07). Durst is a small business owner and consultant. He and his family attend Calvary Baptist Church in south Tacoma where they also own their family home.
