Registration Open for Free Natural Yard Care Workshops in April
The public is invited to attend free natural yard care workshops in April. These two-hour evening workshops will beheld at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium (5400 N. Pearl St.) and will help homeowners learn smart and healthy gardening choices that can make a difference in keeping their yard and neighborhood looking great.
No Fear Garden Design Workshop: on Tuesday, April 14, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. At this workshop, award-winning garden designer Sue Goetz will share her creative approaches to planning a garden with texture, dimension and sustainability. Attendees will learn shortcuts and insider tips for growing a beautiful and successful garden.
“Un-Thirsty”Garden Workshop: on Tuesday, April 21, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Master Gardener Marianne Binetti will show attendees how to lower their water bill and raise a beautiful garden and landscape at the same time. This workshop will show examples of how to group plants, when and how much to water, what edibles give you the most nutrition for the least work and tips on lawn care.
Attendees of these workshops will receive a discount coupon to the upcoming Native Plant Sale at Tacoma Nature Center on Saturday, May 2. There will also be opportunities to ask a Master Gardener specific yard and garden questions, a raffle for a variety of gardening giveaways and more.
