State Farm In Tacoma is a “Game Changer”

STATE FARM DECISION TO OCCUPY 300,000 SQUARE FEET OF CLASS A OFFICE SPACE IN TACOMA IS A “GAME CHANGER”

April 19, 2013 – This morning, State Farm announced that it has signed two leases in Tacoma, one to take the entire 909 A Street Building (the former Russell building) and one to take 80,000 square feet of the Columbia Bank Center, both on A Street in Downtown Tacoma. Initially, the company will be employing 1,100 people in downtown.

“THIS IS A GAME-CHANGING DECISION for the people and businesses of Tacoma, Pierce County and Washington State,” said Bruce Kendall, President & CEO of the Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County.

He added, “There are hundreds of heroes in the tale that led to this investment. Congratulations to everyone involved and A BIG WELCOME to STATE FARM, one of the world’s great companies.”

Please note that State Farm will continue to operate its 1,000 person facility in DuPont as well as its new Tacoma locations.

Altered Chords

Didn’t we all agree that this is good for Tacoma. Is this follow up post here to let us know what Bruce Kendall said about the great job he and his people did to fill a huge vacuum. I do thing that the state farm folks will stick around downtown more than the Russel folks did…And I guess people working in a building instead of just rats living in a building is a GAME CHANGER!!!

OK – Next.
