After beer festivals’ bitter taste, charities to split $17,500

We were sad to hear last year that the organization putting on Tacoma's Craft Beer Festival had short-changed the non-profits that were supposed to see the proceeds of the event.

Union House Productions never did come through on promises to Pierce County's YWCA and Emergency Food Network, but the Ram Restaurant & Brewery did.

Over the holidays the Ram raised $7,500 in donations for the two nonprofits - and will contribute another $5,000 of its own to each organization - for a total of $17,500. Well done.

We're not sure, but we're guessing we won't be seeing the Craft Beer Fest back - at least not from the same organizers...
