My Brooklyn

We've heard the word "gentrification" tossed around in more than a few conversations lately - sometimes more appropriately than others.

It's easy to throw the word into a conversation, but it can be a dialogue killer, because of the emotional punch it can pack when talking about your own neighborhood.

"My Brooklyn" takes a complicated look at gentrification from the perspective of a self-described Brooklyn gentrifier. It's an interesting, and not untroubling perspective.

If nothing else, the interviews with the neighbors beginning at around minute 41 are a fascinating snapshot of how different people relate to the same neighborhood - and may sound a little familiar...

(Starts at about 27 minutes in, after another tale of gentrification in "Fate of a Salesman.")
