Ranking the Best (and Worst) Colleges for Low Income Students

We knew UW Tacoma has made a huge difference in the fabric of life in downtown Tacoma, and in the lives of the thousands of students who have earned their diplomas there.

Now a new study shows the Tacoma campus of the University of Washington is doing particularly good things for low-income students. Priceonomics ran the numbers on schools that are accessible to low income students in terms of admission rates and cost, while also producing good outcomes in terms of graduation rates, loan repayment rates, and future earnings. UW Tacoma ranks second best on that list, with only Texas A&M ranking better.

This means that Tacoma's UW campus is a particularly good deal in terms of bang for the buck and what really matters to students in the long run - life after college. Way to go UWT.

I am so proud to work at UWT. It is a big extended family. We owe a lot to those who saw the need and pushed hard to help us help others succeed.
