Exit133 is about Tacoma
The rain gardens installed as part of the Pacific Avenue streetscape project have been doing their job, filtering out contaminants and debris from Tacoma's stormwater system. They're even getting attention from other cities; including Portland, Oregon, and Venice, Italy; interested in the system now at work in Tacoma.
It's nice to see the Tacoma project drawing international attention, but it could use a little help, too. When the 14 rain gardens along Pacific were constructed, the plan was for community sponsors to step up to keep an eye on them, and do minor upkeep like picking up litter. Apparently only four have sponsors so far - Dorky's Arcade being one of those. Maybe you or someone you know would like to step up to help?Read more at King 5
