With Data and Resolve, Tacoma Fights Pollution

Tacoma is getting international attention for its approach to combatting stormwater pollution.

The New York Times calls the approach "... a combination of science and sheer doggedness...," and reports that officials from locations as diverse as Brazil, Thailand, Italy and Russia are taking notice.

The way Tacoma is gathering and using detailed data on the chemicals in its stormwater is a part of what's getting the attention. The City's aggressive enforcement and use of rain gardens gets some attention too. 

It's kind of nice to see Tacoma getting some attention for the hard work of envirnomental clean up.
